How I Work

I provide a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space for you to talk through your problems and difficulties. This may be indoors, outdoors, online or on the phone.

I work as an integrative therapist, I integrate elements from different modalities of psychotherapy best suited to you and your needs. I work holistically integrating mind, body and spirit to understand how all these factors influence your ability to live the best life you can.

Therapy sessions are offered in three different settings;

Traditional counselling which takes place in my private rooms in Bayview. Walk & Talk (Movement) therapy which takes place out doors, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Online or phone sessions, where you can log on or dial in from home, or wherever you may be. We can work together to decide which setting and style of therapy would suit you best and depending on your needs may switch between settings and different styles of therapy.

My Beliefs

Working with a therapist can be a life changing experience. I believe that some people would never consider therapy and therefore never experience the benefits of therapy, as the thought of sitting in a therapy room may be too confronting for them. If this sounds like you, working therapeutically outdoors, at an accessible location for you could be an extremely beneficial experience for you.

I passionately believe that being outside in nature and physically moving your body has an incredibly positive impact on your emotional well-being. When you combine this with counselling and psychotherapy you can successfully work through your problems, as well as learn new strategies you can use after our therapeutic work has ended.

The physical act of moving reflects your emotional journey that you begin when you come to therapy. The hope is that you are able to move into a better stage of your life. I have experienced such emotional changes and health benefits, and I am passionate about helping others to find benefit too. Whether it is through walking therapy sessions, or by helping you to experience the outdoors in between our sessions indoors, my goal is to assist you in moving forward in a way that works for you, long term.

My Credentials

As a mature age student, in 2011 I gained my Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Rehabilitation Counselling from the University of Sydney. This was a double degree over the course of 4 years covering a variety of medical and psychological learning with a focus on disability and vocational return to work rehabilitation. I then went onto gain my Master of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy in 2013 from the Jansen Newman Institute, a reputed

institution providing a great deal of experiential opportunities.

This was an integrative counselling and psychotherapy course covering a variety of skills and techniques, from a variety of modalities of psychotherapy. This diverse training means I can work with you in an adaptable manner and we can tailor our sessions to suit your individual needs.
